The Buffet ClariMate Digital Clarinet Mute is a practical solution for clarinettists wanting silent practice, MIDI control, and digital flexibility. Designed for Bb and A clarinets, it attaches to your existing instrument and lets you continue using familiar fingerings, embouchure, and mouthpiece setups while accessing a range of electronic features.

Using high-precision sensors and note recognition technology, the ClariMate converts your breath, reed movement, and fingerings into digital signals. Connect headphones for quiet practice with the built-in clarinet synthesiser, stream backing tracks via Bluetooth, or connect to a computer through USB-C for MIDI control. The ClariMate II app adds note training, fingering display, breath calibration, synth editing, and MIDI functions across iOS, Android, and Windows devices. Supplied with a soft case, active reeds, airflow plugs, and connection cable, it's an easy way to expand what your clarinet can do.

Practise quietly without changing instruments

The ClariMate allows you to practise silently while continuing to play your own clarinet. Rather than moving to a separate digital instrument, you keep the same fingering system, mouthpiece, and embouchure technique you already know. Active reeds and adjustable airflow plugs help recreate the resistance and feel of acoustic playing, making practice sessions more familiar. Connect a pair of headphones to the 3.5 mm output and hear the internal clarinet synthesiser while keeping noise to a minimum. It's particularly useful when practising at home, travelling, or playing in situations where volume needs to be controlled.

Turn your clarinet into a MIDI controller

Connect the ClariMate to a computer via USB-C and your clarinet becomes a MIDI controller for music production and performance. Compatible with popular DAWs and virtual instruments, it lets you trigger synths, sampled sounds, and software instruments using your existing clarinet technique. High-precision breath sensing captures playing dynamics, while the note recognition system translates fingerings into MIDI data. This opens up creative possibilities for composing, recording, and experimenting with sounds that go beyond a traditional clarinet setup.

The ClariMate II app gives you access to a range of learning, setup, and performance tools. Available for iOS, Android, and Windows, it connects through Bluetooth or USB depending on your device.
