Shape tone with musical EQ curves
The three-band EQ design gives you more than simple frequency control. Each band behaves differently depending on whether you’re boosting or cutting, which helps create more natural tonal changes. The low band can shift between peaking and shelving, while the mid and high bands offer targeted shaping with notch and shelving options. This approach lets you work quickly and trust your ears, rather than relying on surgical adjustments. It’s particularly useful when you want broad tonal balance or subtle emphasis without over-processing your signal.
Maintain accuracy across all sessions
With FAT double sampling and 64-bit floating point processing, the A567 keeps its behaviour consistent regardless of your session setup. Lower sample rates automatically engage enhanced processing, while higher rates maintain efficiency without compromise. This ensures filters respond as expected across the full frequency range. In practice, it means you can move between projects or systems and still get predictable results. You won’t need to second-guess how the EQ reacts, which helps keep your workflow steady and focused.
Reviews
"In today’s market, it’s great having the Datamix mic pre and equalizer available to use on contemporary Pop/Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, Metal-where every producer/engineer is looking for something different. This is the weapon of choice!" - Eddie Kramer – Engineer/Producer (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Rolling Stones and more)
"Don’t let the simple controls fool you. Underneath the hood on this one lies an attitude we don’t see often. The ‘basic’ controls sort of beg you to crank ‘em, and in doing so, you will be rewarded handsomely.” - Robert L. Smith – Producer/Engineer/Mixer
Features
- Three bands of EQ with unique behaviours per band
- Low frequency band uses peak filters when boosted and a shelf filter when cut, midrange uses a peak filter curve when boosted and notch type filter when cut and High frequencies uses a peak filter curve when boosted and a shelf type on the cut
- FAT double sampling ensures accurate processing independent of the sample rate
- 64-bit double precision floating point processing delivers ultra-low cumulative errors in the filters and proper filter characteristics across entire frequency spectrum
- Meticulously modelled Preamp and Output section modelling
- Variation of sound character via selecting the tuning of a specific channel, an average setting, or an “ideal” setting corresponding to the precise frequencies on the control labels
- Adjustable left/right channel tuning spread
- Alt Q mode allows for a gentler effect by fixing Q for each band regardless of selected frequency
- Sharp mode adds pronounced resonance in the ‘’High’’ band
