Essential for any multi-mic setup, maintaining correct phase relationships between microphones can make or break any mix. Whether it's a full drum kit, multi-mic guitar or vocal recording or even a full orchestral recording, out-of-phase microphones will introduce filtering in your signal, particularly in the low frequencies. Using the Sound Radix Auto-Align plug-in, you can bring back the lost punch and definition in your recording by properly aligning each microphone with your session. A process that normally requires meticulous and time-consuming manual editing, Auto-align can resolve these issues for you in a matter of seconds. That's more time spent on the creative and expressive aspects of your mixing process instead of obsessively moving audio transient markers around to align multi audio tracks simultaneously.
Designed to be as intuitive and user-friendly as possible, the Sound Radix Auto-Align interface has been designed using a proprietary and innovative Spectral Phase Correlation Meter display. Highlighting the phase correlation between your input and reference across the entire frequency spectrum, offers a much more detailed view of the phase relationship between your multi-mic system, allowing you to pinpoint problems more accurately.
Continuing with the innovative interface, the Auto-Align features frequency-dependent information throughout. Instead of traditional level meters, the meters are displayed in two blocks with one highlighting the low frequencies and one highlighting the highs.
Small details in your multi-mic recording can often be masked by other instruments, meaning you may not always notice any issues in your signal. Fortunately, the intelligent design behind Auto-Align can automatically detect a reversed polarity microphone and compensate for this, matching the polarity of the rest of your reference tracks.
When working with multi-microphones, the smallest increments make the biggest differences. Auto-Align is accurate down to the sample level, ensuring that any comb filtering and phasing is greatly reduced, dramatically improving your sound. This goes much further than what is conventionally possible within your DAW. Of course, the innovative display can highlight the differences of microphones in either samples or milliseconds to accurately monitor the changes in your audio file.
