Key Features
Product Ref: 392020
The ASP800 is designed to add eight channels of high-quality microphone preamplification to your existing audio interface via ADAT. This additional connectivity makes it easier to tackle larger recording sessions, from multi-microphone drum recordings to full-band tracking.
Alongside the microphone inputs, eight balanced line inputs provide flexibility for connecting external preamps, synthesisers, drum machines, and other analog equipment. By increasing your available inputs without replacing your current interface, the ASP800 offers a practical route to a more capable recording system.
Each channel features Audient's Console mic preamp design, derived from the company's ASP8024-HE recording console. Delivering low noise, low distortion, and a subtle analog warmth, these preamps provide a clean and dependable foundation for recording vocals, instruments, and acoustic sources.
The ASP800 also provides up to 60dB of gain, switchable phantom power, polarity reverse, and a -10dB pad help you adapt to a wide variety of microphones and recording situations. The result is a versatile front end that performs consistently across demanding sessions.
Two dedicated Retro Channels allow you to shape your recordings with vintage-inspired tonal colour. HMX uses discrete MOSFET technology to introduce asymmetrical harmonic saturation, adding richness, depth, and body to clean recordings. IRON uses a custom British transformer and high-voltage drive circuit to create saturation and transient shaping inspired by classic recording equipment.
Both processes can be used individually or combined, giving you a wide range of tonal options. They are also available on microphone, line, and instrument sources, making experimentation simple during tracking.
Class-leading converter technology helps preserve the detail and dynamics of every performance, ensuring your recordings remain clear and accurate from input to output. For direct recording, two JFET instrument inputs recreate the behaviour of classic valve amplifier input stages, providing a familiar response for guitars, basses, keyboards, and electronic instruments.
This allows you to connect directly and start recording without additional hardware. Combined with its robust all-metal construction, hand-finished aluminium controls, bundled recording software, and compact rackmount format, the ASP800 is built for reliable studio use.
All Audient interfaces now comes with ARC 2.0. ARC is Audient’s own creative hub which provides you with a comprehensive range of music software and offers.
