Key Features
The Akai Professional MPK Mini Plus 37-Key MIDI Keyboard builds on the design of the original MPK Mini, with an expanded control section and rear-panel connections that now include CV and MIDI connectivity.
Product Ref: 377646
The MPK Mini Plus now supports the Native Instruments NKS ecosystem, giving you smoother control over compatible instruments, effects and sounds from the hardware. Each compatible controller includes a Komplete 15 Select voucher, so you can start creating with a broad sound library straight away. Akai users can also choose exclusive Beat, Band and Electronic bundle options, helping you match the included sounds to your production style. Whether you make beats, write songs or produce electronic music, the setup helps keep your ideas moving without leaving your workflow.
Building on the compact MPK Mini design, the MPK Mini Plus adds controls that support a faster, more focused production process. Dedicated transport buttons let you control your DAW without constantly reaching for your mouse or keyboard, which helps you stay in the creative flow. Eight endless encoders make it simple to adjust levels, automation and software parameters, while the additional navigation encoder works with the OLED display for clear feedback. You can make changes quickly, check settings easily and keep your attention on the music as you build.
The 37-note Gen 2 dynamic keybed gives you a more responsive feel when playing melodies, chords and basslines. Dedicated Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels add hands-on expression, letting you shape pitch, movement and timbre during recording or live performance. The keybed is designed to capture subtle differences in how you play, so softer parts and stronger accents feel more natural. This gives you better control when sketching loops, building arrangements or adding performance details that make programmed parts feel more musical and personal in your finished tracks.
Eight RGB-backlit MPC pads give you a familiar, responsive surface for finger-drumming, sample chopping, melodies and live triggering. Their velocity-sensitive design responds to how firmly you play, giving drum patterns and sample hits a more natural feel. The built-in polyphonic step sequencer lets you create patterns, loops and musical phrases directly from the controller, which is useful when you want to capture ideas quickly. Eight rotary encoders also give you hands-on control over settings such as volume, automation and plugin parameters without relying on your mouse.
The MPK Mini Plus expands your setup with MIDI, CV/Gate and Clock I/O connections on the rear panel. MIDI I/O lets you control external gear such as drum machines, sequencers and compatible synthesisers, making it easier to connect hardware into your music workflow. CV/Gate outputs, including Pitch, Gate and Mod, support modular synth integration for more hands-on sound creation. Clock I/O helps keep multiple devices in time, which is especially useful for live sets, hardware jams and synchronised studio sessions where tight timing really matters in practice.
MPC Beats is included, so you can start recording, editing and arranging music without needing to source separate software first. The DAW gives you tools for building songs with melodic sounds, drum samples, loops and virtual plugin instruments. Included instruments such as Electric and Tubesynth help you create keys, pads, leads and textured sounds for different styles. This makes the MPK Mini Plus a practical starting point for new producers, while still giving experienced users a compact controller and software setup for sketching ideas wherever they work.
