The unique design of the MKE 440 delivers phenomenal audio, placing two aligned and matched mini shotgun microphones in a patented V-shape. This powerful configuration is designed to complement standard 35mm camera lenses, capturing a stereo image that equates to the visual width of your video. The rejection of off-axis noise from outside the focus of your camera means what you see is what you hear. A uniform spread with incredible clarity and intelligibility makes the MKE 440 perfect for a huge variety of video projects.

Patented shockmount design

No more noise. The MKE 440's shockmount has been specially developed to offer incredible rejection of handling and structure-borne noise. The patented design utilises rubber suspension secured inside the protective metal mesh of the MKE 440. It has been created to accommodate the size and weight of each microphone tube perfectly, providing a dramatic reduction in undesirable noise whilst remaining protected. This highly-effective design offers greatly improved results over traditional camera-mic shockmount concepts.

Rugged and reliable

The world can be a hostile place, especially for electronics and equipment. That's why the MKE 440 boasts an ultra-durable design. Stainless steel micro-mesh keeps the two microphone tubes safe, whilst simultaneously offering excellent suppression of wind noise. This micro-mesh design was chosen over the more common foam windscreen not only for its durability, but also for the fact that the metal mesh doesn’t influence your sound. Foam has the potential to muffle the high-frequency content of the sound you're capturing, whereas the steel micro-mesh doesn’t. Plus, it also adds exceptional shielding against electromagnetic interference to your microphone.

Integrated high-dynamic circuitry

Take control of your sound. The MKE 440 features a battery-powered circuit that allows you to match the output signal of the mic to your camera's input sensitivity. No matter what you're recording, the MKE 440 gives you the ability to handle a huge dynamic range. Also featured is a switchable low-cut filter. This lets you cut out low-frequency rumble and wind noise, as well as unwanted mechanical noise. With over 100 hours of operation time from two AAA batteries, you can be sure that you can capture detailed sound for long period of time without the need to carry around a bag full of batteries.
