The StudioLive SE16 offers the same studio-quality audio found across the SE range, with XMAX-Remote preamps delivering ultra-clean analogue tone and 32-bit floating-point DSP providing precision in all processing tasks. With 115 dB converters and low-jitter clocking, it ensures a wide dynamic range and consistent, accurate sound.
The Fat Channel suite is included in full, with all seven EQ models, such as Solar 69 and Tube EQ, plus all eight compressor models like Brit Comp and FC-670. These processing tools give engineers full creative control for live performance and streaming. Digital Reverb XL has been enhanced with extended parameters, including diffusion, predelay, and advanced damping options. These allow sound engineers to create detailed and realistic reverb effects, adding space and depth to instruments and vocals during live performances.
The SE16 includes a 64x64 USB interface that simplifies multitrack recording directly to a computer or an onboard SD card. Capture software is fully integrated, enabling reliable live recording of every channel without extra routing or setup. One-click virtual soundcheck allows previous sessions to be recalled, enabling engineers to refine mixes before performers arrive.
This helps to minimise stress and save time during event preparation. After the show, recordings can be transferred seamlessly into Studio One Pro for editing, mixing, and mastering, streamlining the entire production process from live sound to final mixdown.
The SE16 provides flexible routing options, with four selectable input sources available for each channel. Engineers can quickly switch between analogue inputs, AVB network streams, USB returns, or SD card playback. Universal Control and QMix-UC apps allow wireless operation of levels, scenes, and effects from tablets and mobile devices.
Metro remote access adds even more flexibility by enabling offsite adjustments via the internet, which is useful for installations and technical support teams. This flexibility ensures that the mix can be fine-tuned from anywhere in the venue, providing an accurate representation of the audience’s listening experience.
The SE16 is built with portability and ease of use in mind, featuring a flat screen design for clear visual feedback and redesigned fader caps for comfortable operation. The cylindrical encoders provide smooth, precise adjustments during extended sessions. Milan-certified AVB networking ensures stable, low-latency audio connections that are compatible with other Milan-compliant devices, making system expansion straightforward.
With 8 FlexMixes, four dedicated effects buses, and 24 DCAs, the SE16 is versatile enough to handle smaller gigs, houses of worship, or mobile recording setups. Additional features such as new reverb presets and a limiter with variable release control give engineers more options when shaping dynamics and effects, ensuring the SE16 delivers dependable performance for a wide range of applications.
