Versatile MOTIF sound engine with FM expansion

Over 1,000 voices taken from the MOTIF XS give you everything from rich pianos and lush strings to cutting-edge synths and drum kits. The MX88 also integrates Yamaha’s FM Essential app via iOS, adding a 4-operator FM engine with 256 voices for classic digital sounds and custom patches. It’s a powerful sonic toolbox for both live performers and producers.

Studio and stage-ready workflow

Built-in USB audio/MIDI means you can record, playback and control your DAW straight from the MX88—no extra interface required. It also includes a 4-part real-time knob controller for adjusting effects like filter, EQ, envelope and more. Split and Layer functions plus dedicated category buttons make it easy to customise and recall sounds on stage or in session.

Software bundle included

The MX88 comes complete with Steinberg Cubase AI and Cubasis LE, so you can get started with multi-track recording right away. This makes the package suitable not only for standalone playing, but also as the core of a studio setup. WAV, AIFF and SMF file playback via USB memory adds further flexibility for live performance or backing track use.
