Thanks to class-compliant USB audio/MIDI, you can connect the MX61 directly to any compatible DAW, iOS device or VST host. No drivers needed. You can record straight into your DAW, play back audio through the MX61, and control transport or plug-in parameters using the built-in assignable knobs. It’s plug-and-play music production without the complexity.

Mobile music-making with FM Essential

The MX61 II includes Yamaha’s FM Essential app for iOS. It adds 256 FM synth voices built using a four-operator engine—great for 80s-style bells and basses or modern digital textures. It’s a fast way to experiment with FM synthesis right from your iPhone or iPad, expanding your sound design options even further.
