Key Features
The Moog Matriarch Paraphonic Analog Synth is a semi-modular analog keyboard for performers, producers and modular users who want expressive control. Its four analog oscillators can be stacked for a dense mono voice or split into up to four notes of paraphony, giving you plenty of scope for basslines, leads and chord work. The bundle also includes the dedicated Decksaver cover which protects against accidental damage, spillages and dust.

Matriarch gives you four analogue VCOs to shape in different ways depending on the part you are playing. You can use mono mode for thick single-note sounds, duo mode for split voicing or four-note paraphony for richer harmonic playing.
That flexibility makes it useful across a wide range of roles in a setup. One minute it can handle direct bass parts or cutting leads, and the next it can move into sustained chords or shifting melodic patterns. Hard sync and FM on the oscillators add more tonal range too, helping you move from smooth and rounded sounds to more complex textures.
The semi-modular layout keeps Matriarch approachable because you do not need to patch anything to get started. Every core section is ready to play from the front panel, with single-function knobs, switches and buttons that keep the workflow clear.
When you want to experiment further, 90 patch points open the instrument up for wider routing and modulation ideas. Two mults, three bipolar voltage controlled attenuators and dual LFOs give you useful ways to reshape signals and create more involved behaviour. This setup makes Matriarch suitable both as a self-contained instrument and as part of a broader modular or Eurorack system.
Matriarch includes dual ladder filters that can run in series, parallel or stereo modes, giving you several ways to shape the frequency response and stereo image. This makes it easier to dial in focused mono sounds, wider patches or more layered movement across the left and right channels.
The stereo analogue delay adds another level of depth, with MIDI sync, tap tempo and ping pong repeats available for more rhythmic or spacious results. Together, these sections give you a lot of sound design potential without needing external processors, which is especially useful if you want a cleaner live setup or a faster studio workflow.
The 49-note keyboard gives you velocity sensitivity, aftertouch, glide and dedicated pitch and mod wheels, so you can play with a good amount of expression straight from the instrument. Alongside that, the arpeggiator offers several playback modes including random operation for less predictable patterns.
The sequencer can also be decoupled and used to control external gear, which makes Matriarch a practical front end for other synths and modular equipment. Add expression pedal connectivity, external audio input, 5-pin DIN MIDI, USB MIDI and stereo outputs, and it fits naturally into live rigs, desktop studios and growing hybrid systems.
The Decksaver Moog Matriarch Cover is constructed from a polycarbonate shell for optimal protection. The cover is custom moulded to fit the shape of the Matriarch and comes complete with a high-quality smoke/clear sheen. This is the ultimate choice for anyone wishing to protect their synth from dirt, dust, and superficial damage. It also provides easy access to inputs and outputs at all times.
