Key Features
The Korg Monologue Analog Synthesizer, Silver is a compact analogue synth for musicians who want hands-on sound design and portable performance. Built around redesigned monophonic analogue circuitry, it delivers everything from weighty basses to focused lead sounds using a simple knob-per-function layout that encourages fast editing.
Product Ref: 81193
The Monologue builds on the design principles of the minilogue while introducing a redesigned monophonic analogue signal path with its own sonic character. Its architecture combines two voltage controlled oscillators with a voltage controlled filter, envelope generator, amplifier and LFO for flexible sound creation.
Wave shaping expands harmonic content while oscillator sync and ring modulation add more aggressive textures. A newly developed two-pole filter delivers strong low-end response with plenty of bite. The integrated drive circuit adds extra harmonics and controlled distortion, helping basses sound fuller while lead patches cut through dense mixes. The LFO also reaches extremely fast speeds for more experimental modulation or can switch to one-shot mode to behave like an additional envelope.
The enhanced 16-step sequencer makes composing patterns straightforward while offering enough depth for more detailed programming. Record performances in real time with overdubbing or enter notes step by step directly from the keyboard. Dedicated step buttons let you edit sequences quickly during production or performance.
Motion sequencing captures up to four knob movements so filter sweeps modulation changes and other parameter adjustments become part of your pattern. You can also record stepped parameter values for more defined rhythmic changes. Features such as key trigger playback slide per step and sequence transposition make it easy to create evolving basslines percussive sequences or expressive melodic phrases from a single program.
The Monologue includes extensive microtuning features for musicians interested in exploring alternative scales. Alongside factory tuning presets you also get twelve user locations for storing your own scale creations. Compatibility with MIDI Tuning Standard 3Byte messages makes integration with compatible equipment straightforward.
This flexibility allows you to move beyond equal temperament and experiment with fresh harmonic relationships that can inspire completely new musical ideas. Factory content also includes scales sounds and sequences created with input from Aphex Twin giving you useful starting points before developing your own tuning systems and performance patches.
Compact dimensions strong construction and a weight of only 1.7 kg make the Monologue easy to carry between rehearsals recording sessions and live performances. Aluminium and wood styling gives it a clean modern appearance while the familiar slim keyboard covers an E to E note range similar to a guitar or bass.
Battery operation removes the need for mains power in many situations making portable performances much simpler. Connectivity includes USB MIDI five-pin MIDI input and output plus Korg Audio Sync for straightforward integration with compatible Volca Electribe Minilogue and SQ-1 devices. The OLED display also shows waveforms and motion data in real time helping you understand exactly how your sound is changing as you perform and edit.
