The Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard recreates the familiar weight and movement of an acoustic grand piano using graded hammer weighting, a spring-less mechanism, and triple-sensor key detection. Heavier bass keys and lighter treble keys provide a natural playing balance, while the third sensor improves responsiveness during repeated notes. The action also tracks key release speed, giving you greater control over everything from crisp staccato to flowing legato passages. Together with matte key surfaces, the keyboard encourages confident technique whether you're practising scales, learning repertoire, or simply enjoying everyday playing.

The CX-202 features full 88-key sampling of Kawai's Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, reproduced using Harmonic Imaging technology for detailed, expressive performance. Smooth dynamic transitions allow subtle musical expression across a wide range of playing styles, while damper resonance adds extra realism. Six reverb types recreate different performance spaces, helping the instrument feel more immersive. A 40 W stereo speaker system provides clear, balanced sound for home use, and Low Volume Balance preserves natural tone and touch when you need to play more quietly — particularly useful during evening practice.

Integrated Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth Audio allow wireless connection to compatible smartphones, tablets, and computers. Stream music through the piano's speakers, use learning apps, or adjust settings without extra cables. The PianoRemote app gives straightforward access to sounds and performance settings, while PiaBookPlayer displays compatible sheet music and even supports pedal-operated page turning. Built-in lesson collections from Burgmüller, Czerny, Beyer, and Alfred support regular practice, and the onboard recorder lets you capture performances to review your progress.

Designed for comfortable everyday use

The compact cabinet measures just over 40 cm deep, making the CX-202 well suited to homes where space is limited. A sliding key cover helps protect the keyboard when not in use, while the folding music rest keeps the instrument looking tidy between practice sessions. The Grand Feel Pedal System reproduces the position and weighting of three acoustic grand piano pedals, including half-pedal support for greater expressive control. Spatial Headphone Sound and selectable headphone profiles also create a more natural listening experience, making longer practice sessions more comfortable when using headphones.
