The Expert Sleepers Ivo Resonant Low-Pass VCF is an incredibly powerful and rich sounding filter that is ideal for transforming the character of your signal from thin and weak to thick and luscious with hypnotic resonance. An all-analog construction using discrete transistor OTA's provides the Ivo Resonant Low-Pass VCF with a distinctive and warm tone that is ideal for filtering harsh peaks and harmonics within your signal. Offering both 2-pole (12dB per octave) and 3-pole (18dB per octave), Ivo gives you a huge range of flexibility for controlling the tone and character of your sound alongside control over the resonance (feedback) and filter cut-off frequency. Jam-packed with features into a compact 8HP module, each parameter is controllable with an external CV, making the Expert Sleepers Ivo a tremendous addition to your Eurorack synthesizer.
Designed for analog enthusiasts, Ivo tracks at roughly 1V per octave for accurate tracking along with an attenuator on the second input to dial in the perfect level, avoiding distracting and unwanted distortion. Ivo allows you to take your sound design to the next level, with a self-oscillating second input, you can add an extra layer of texture and tone to your signal. In 2-pole filtering mode, you have a more subtle slope of 12dB per octave to filter out any harsh peaks and harmonics within your signal, this can be particularly useful when working with sawtooth waves with lots of harmonic content. However, if you want to take your sound to the next level, drive the resonance to full to push Ivo into self-oscillation. This then produces a sine wave-esque tone in your signal, without the need to send a signal through Ivo, letting you add texture and an extra layer to your sound.
Change the character of your sound
An extremely powerful and integral module within any Eurorack system, a low-pass filter is capable of delivering a huge range of tactile tone shaping, from subtle smoothing of harsh overtones, to drastically thickening up your sound by removing the high end completely. With Ivo, you have a huge amount of control over the tone shaping of your filtering, from changing the filter cutoff frequency, adding resonance (feedback) to changing the slope of the filtering with the pole switching. Featuring an attenuator on input 2, Ivo gives you the tools to work with any audio or CV source to ensure you have enough headroom to avoid any unwanted and distracting distortion artefacts.
Featuring a sweepable resonance dial, you can now drive your signal even harder (and into self-oscillation in 2-pole mode) to add texture and grit to your tone. This is the perfect solution for transforming thin and anemic lead lines to a weighty, full-bodied tone that can help add movement and energy to your music.
