Three legendary overdrives in one
The Tube Squealer puts three of the most famous overdrive circuits into one housing. With a simple switch you can move between the original 808, the widely used TS9 and the often overlooked TS10. Each mode recreates the original circuit topology with precision, ensuring the tone feels like the authentic pedals that shaped countless recordings.
The 808 provides the earliest smooth voice, the TS9 adds punch and presence, while the TS10 delivers a slightly cleaner yet responsive drive. Instead of having to collect all three, this pedal gives you the option to carry them in one box. This versatility means you can match the pedal to different guitars and amps quickly, making it as useful for experimentation as it is for live performance.
Modern features for flexible rigs
Beyond simple circuit switching, the Tube Squealer includes a set of features aimed at making it adaptable to any setup. The mix knob lets you blend the clean and driven signals, which can preserve articulation while adding drive.
This control also allows the pedal to act as a subtle boost when set lower or a full overdrive when turned up. The pickup voicing selector gives a choice tailored to single coils or humbuckers. For players who often find humbuckers sounding muddy with classic overdrives, this setting adds clarity and presence to cut through the mix.
A rear mounted voltage boost option doubles the internal operating power from nine volts to eighteen volts, providing extra headroom and a tighter response. This is ideal for players who want to maintain dynamics at higher drive settings or for those pushing an already overdriven amp.
Bypass and routing options for any board
Another useful feature of the Tube Squealer is the selectable bypass mode. You can run it as true bypass for a completely transparent signal path when disengaged or as buffered bypass to maintain signal strength across longer cable runs or large pedalboards. This means the pedal can adapt easily to different live or studio setups without extra equipment. The standard level, drive and tone controls give intuitive adjustment, while the additional switching ensures the pedal is never locked into a single use case.
Premium analog design, tested by musicians
The pedal is built with carefully chosen analog components, including the original style JRC4558 op amp, discrete transistors, diodes and JFETs. These parts recreate the soft clipping behaviour and midrange emphasis that defined the early designs, while maintaining consistency and durability.
The circuit is fully analog with no digital modelling, ensuring the tone feels and responds like a real amplifier being driven hard. Every unit is hand tested in Austin, Texas by trained technicians who are also musicians, guaranteeing quality control that goes beyond automated testing.
