Get more out of your amp
The Centavo Mod can take on a few different jobs depending on how you set it. Keep things clean and it works as a boost, giving you extra level when a solo needs to come forward. Adding gain takes you into traditional overdrive territory.
Already using a dirty amp? The Centavo Mod can push it further for a grittier sound. You can also blend clean and driven characteristics rather than committing fully to either. That makes it easy to find a setting that complements your amp instead of completely changing how it sounds.
Find your sound without overthinking it
Three knobs are all you need to get started. Gain sets how much drive you bring in. Treble lets you adjust the high-end response, while output controls the level leaving the pedal. It’s the same straightforward control arrangement found on the original design.
Warm Audio have added another option around the back. The MOD switch extends the bass response when engaged, bringing more body to the lower strings and giving them a throatier sound. Leave it switched off when you want the standard response.
Faithful where it matters
Making the enclosure smaller hasn’t meant changing what’s inside. The Centavo Mod uses the same components as Warm Audio’s full-sized Centavo and stays faithful to the original Klon Centaur circuit. TL072 op amps sit alongside vintage-style diodes, carbon and metal film resistors, and a charge-pump voltage regulator.
These components are chosen to reproduce the circuit’s clean boost and edge-of-breakup characteristics. Push the gain further and harder clipping becomes available. This gives you plenty of room to work with different amps and gain settings while keeping the familiar response of the original circuit.
Make some room on your board
Pedalboard space disappears quickly. The Centavo Mod tackles that problem with a smaller custom-cast enclosure and top-mounted jacks. You get the Centavo circuit without needing to find room for the larger original-style housing. Buffered bypass operation is included, while power can come from a 9V battery or standard 9V DC pedal adapter. Power consumption is 40mA. Warm Audio also hand-test and inspect each pedal in Austin, Texas. A five-year warranty is included for added reassurance.
