Don't be limited in your music. The Luna Tattoo Concert's mahogany neck is perfectly suited to all ukulele techniques and playing styles. Its supreme durability, resonance, and responsiveness means that whether you're picking, strumming, or using any other kind of finger technique, you'll always sound fantastic. The walnut fretboard that tops the neck also delivers excellent warmth and provides you with a smooth playing action. This makes fast-paced soloing simple, as you'll be able to glide up and down the fretboard with ease.
Never be restricted. The concert-sized body is the ideal shape for giving you complete creative freedom. Its extended fret range exceeds other, smaller-ranged ukuleles. This is why the concert size tends to be the go-to instrument for ukulele soloists. You're able to access a gigantic amount of chords and notes unavailable on smaller range instruments. You'll be able to experiment without restraint.
A construction to give you a truly stunning range of tone. The Tattoo Concert is made up of a mahogany body and spruce top. You'll enjoy bright attack, broad dynamic range, and crisp articulation delivered by the punchy-sounding spruce. This will give your more energetic, up-tempo playing a scintillating edge. Its broad range also makes it well suited for a vast collection of playing styles.
You'll also enjoy magnificent richness and warmth courtesy of the mahogany body. A denser wood than spruce, it will emphasise warmth and resonance at the low-end and in the mid-range. You'll be able to create any sound you need, and be certain that every note you play will be delivered with definition and clarity.
Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars.
Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles. Yvonne moved on to create Luna guitars, an instrument line made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent.
Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour thanks to her award winning stained glass work. She then applied these techniques to her new line of instruments. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement, providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver.
Villiers' design expertise soon led to Luna expanding its product base to include a whole new range of stringed instruments, especially ukuleles. The science behind the crafting of top-calibre guitars worked perfectly in making ukuleles with magnificent sound. Not to mention that they looked stunning. Luna's quality has led to many men adopting their instruments as favourites. The company is now an industry leader, and creates instruments for both female and male musicians of all ages.
