At lower settings, your tone remains intact with only a hint of digital character. As you increase it, the signal becomes more grainy and compressed, eventually reaching square-wave distortion and gated, aggressive tones. This range makes it easy to explore lo-fi sounds without losing control of your core signal.
The Sample Rate knob reshapes your sound by reducing resolution over time, introducing aliasing and shifting harmonic content as it moves lower. Higher settings keep things relatively clean, while lower settings create metallic, ring-mod-like textures and unpredictable digital artefacts. It can be used subtly to colour a tone or pushed further to completely transform it into something synthetic and broken, making it ideal for both creative layering and extreme sound design.
The Filter control allows you to shape the harshness of the crushed signal, helping it sit better in a mix.
