The BTB865MS leans into a 37–35 inch multi scale to balance tension and feel across all five strings. The longer B holds pitch with real authority and projects cleanly, while the shorter treble side keeps fretting slick and comfortable. Intonation stays tidy up the neck, articulation pops under the fingers, and the fanned layout feels natural and intuitive as you play
Neck-through sustain
A neck-through build gives this bass huge, even sustain and silky access to the top of the fretboard. The 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck is reinforced with graphite rods for rock-solid stability on tour and in the studio. A zero fret evens out open-string tone, and medium stainless steel frets deliver long-term durability with a fast, consistent feel under your fingers
Flexible electronics
Ibanez T1 humbuckers bring tight lows, punchy mids and clear top end, with individually mounted coils you can height-tune for nuanced balance. The rounded covers double as a comfy thumb rest, sitting parallel to the strings on this multi scale layout. Shape your sound with the Custom 3-band EQ and 3-way mid switch, or flip the EQ bypass for a smooth passive voice using the treble as a global tone
