The Ibanez AVN9 Artwood, Natural Open Pore is part of Ibanez's Artwood Series, and it features a Thermo Aged top and bracing for enhanced volume and tonal response across the entire frequency spectrum. The parlour-sized guitar is ideal for fingerpickers, smaller players, or for those musicians who prefer the more intimate tone that this traditional body-style is known for. Constructed entirely from mahogany, the AVN9's body and neck provide an incredibly warm tone with a mid-focussed sound that is perfect for solo fingerpicking and supporting vocals. The Thermo Aged top enhances the guitar's volume and tonal balance, while the spruce X bracing provides increased sustain and improved response to all the nuances of your playing. Thermo Aged Tonewoods

The Ibanez Thermo Aging process involves drying the tonewoods in a heated environment, also known as torrefaction. This process recreates the way guitars naturally age and improve over time, leaving you with a wood that has a fuller sound and greater volume across the entire frequency spectrum. The AVN9 has a Thermo Aged mahogany top and spruce bracing to give you all the tonal benefits of a decades-old guitar.

Parlour Body

The parlour body is one of the smallest acoustic guitar designs and it produces an intimate tone that is ideal for solo fingerpicking and for accompanying vocals. The AVN9's body is constructed from mahogany with a Thermo Aged mahogany top and spruce X bracing. This combination produces an incredibly warm sound with a focussed mid-range and excellent response to every nuance of your playing. The parlour guitar's compact dimensions make this shape popular with travelling musicians, delta blues players, and contemporary singer-songwriters.

Open Pore Finish

The AVN9 has a thin open pore finish which is just thick-enough to protect the guitar, while letting the woods breath. This creates enhanced resonance and gives the guitar a smooth and tactile feel, along with a vintage-inspired aesthetic.    

Quality Hardware

A bone nut and compensated saddle provides accurate intonation, along with a friction-less platform for the strings to sit, enabling enhanced tuning stability. The bone material provides optimal transference of natural string vibration for a richer tone. The AVN9 has open-gear tuners which give a vintage-look along with a smooth tuning action.
