The Guitarworks Solo-Cutaway DIY Electric Guitar Kit takes all the stress out of building your own guitar. Thanks to its all-inclusive manner, you won't need to worry about the hassle and expense of sourcing every component, it's all in one box. Designed to make your life easier, the majority of components included are part of the Guitarworks range and have been developed by our team of specialists to ensure our high standards of quality are maintained.

Easy and safe

Safe to build, all of our DIY guitar kits include solderless wiring. This eliminates the need for a soldering iron as all wires can be clipped into place. The headstock even features a classic pre-cut design, eliminating the need for cutting and sanding tools.

Whether you want to swap out tone and volume controls, insert new pickups or change the bridge. They'll be nothing stopping you from adding future upgrades to virtually any aspect of the DIY Kit Guitar for a playing experience totally unique to you.

Built to last

All of the sustainable wood included has been handpicked to avoid complications such as knots and imperfections. This ensures each guitar body has been constructed from planks of wood with similar grain and colour, so your finish, should you choose to add one will look consistent and give you confidence that your instrument will last a lifetime.

The temperature and humidity treated body and neck wood comes completely shaped and fine sanded smooth, but not lacquered. This is by design, so you can unleash your artistic flair with any style you see fit. Exceptional, sustainable tonewoods

The Solo-Cutaway DIY Guitar Kit includes a paulownia body. Absorbing ten times more CO2 than other woods, this lightweight, sustainable tonewood is ideal for those who prefer to play the guitar stood for extended periods of time, minimising the risk of fatigue and discomfort. Despite being light, paulownia also offers great resonance and sustain, making it an excellent choice for solos. The body also comes pre-routed and has been prepped to ensure wiring up the pickups, selector switch and pots feels effortless.

Thanks to its maple neck, the Solo-Cutaway is built to last, offering a smooth playing experience so you can progress up and down the fretboard with ease. This can easily be attached to the body via its bolt-on design.

Articulate tones

The DIY kit features two single coil pickups. Single coil pickups are known for their bright, sharp and clear ring with the neck pickup producing a mellow but full twang and the bridge emitting a clean, acoustic-like resonance. The pickup configuration with three way tone switch also offers a crisp articulate tone with exceptional low end depth, punch and sustain that will separate your guitar from the crowd.
