The Fender Custom Shop Troposphere Stratocaster Pickup Set is suited to players who want greater dynamic range and expressive vintage-inspired Strat tones. Developed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Paul Waller, these underwound pickups leave more headroom available when using overdriven sounds, while also responding clearly to lighter playing dynamics.

Alnico 5 magnets help keep notes focused and articulate, while staggered pole pieces promote consistent output across all six strings. The bridge and middle pickups use Formvar wire, paired with a plain enamel-wound neck pickup, creating a blend of '50s and '60s-inspired tonal characteristics. A reverse-wound, reverse-polarity middle pickup reduces unwanted hum in switch positions 2 and 4, making it easier to achieve classic in-between Strat sounds. Wax potting helps resist feedback, and the period-correct cloth wiring and fibre bobbin construction maintain an authentic vintage-style design. Installation hardware is included, so fitting the complete three-pickup set is straightforward.
