HalfLife captures the core distortion architecture that made the original Life Pedal so distinctive while reducing it to a far more pedalboard-friendly footprint. Inspired by classic rodent-style distortion circuits, the Amplitude section delivers everything from tight, saturated crunch to huge walls of aggressive gain. Three clipping modes allow you to tailor the character to your rig, choosing between an open OpAmp setting with maximum output, a smoother asymmetrical configuration, or the familiar symmetrical silicon clipping response. This flexibility makes HalfLife equally capable of modern high-gain sounds and classic distortion textures.
Positioned at the front of the signal path, the analogue octave circuit uses a discrete full-wave rectifier design to blend in progressively as the Octave control is increased. It excels with single-note playing higher on the neck, delivering harmonically rich octave-up sounds that evolve into aggressive, Super Fuzz-inspired textures as the control is advanced. Connecting an expression pedal to the dedicated Octave input lets you sweep the effect in real time, creating dramatic octave swells and dynamic tonal transitions without taking your hands off the guitar.
The Magnitude section is an all-discrete MOSFET clean boost designed to push the front end of your amplifier harder without colouring your core tone.
