The Wolfgang Special Striped pairs classic EVH visual identity with a carefully engineered basswood body. The arched top enhances playing comfort while contributing to a focused attack and even frequency response. Finished in an aged red, black and white striped lacquer, the guitar looks authentically road-worn straight out of the case. Distressed chrome hardware completes the look, giving the instrument a broken-in feel that matches its aggressive sonic character.
Fast neck with premium stability
A quartersawn maple neck reinforced with graphite rods provides excellent strength and resistance to movement, even under extreme tremolo use. Carved to the Wolfgang backshape and finished with a hand-rubbed satin urethane, it feels smooth and fast in the hand. The 12 to 16 inch compound radius ebony fingerboard supports comfortable chord playing near the nut and effortless bends higher up the neck. Jumbo frets enhance control and precision, while the heel-mounted truss rod wheel allows quick, tool-free setup adjustments.
Direct-mounted Wolfgang humbuckers
A pair of custom-designed EVH Wolfgang humbuckers are mounted directly to the body to maximise resonance and sustain. These pickups deliver a powerful midrange punch with clear highs and a tight low end, making them equally suited to high-gain rhythm work and articulate lead playing. A three-way toggle switch provides straightforward access to bridge, combined and neck pickup positions, keeping control intuitive and performance-focused.
Stage-ready hardware and controls
An EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo and locking nut provide exceptional tuning stability, even during aggressive dive bombs and extreme pitch changes. The brass tremolo block adds warmth and sustain, while the EVH D-Tuna allows instant switching to drop D tuning with reliable accuracy. A low-friction volume pot with treble bleed enables smooth swells, paired with a high-friction tone control to prevent accidental adjustment. EVH-branded Gotoh tuners and oversized strap buttons complete a setup built for demanding live use.
