Eddie Cochran

Eddie Cochran is an American Rock 'n' Roll singer, songwriter and guitarist known for classic hits such as "C'mon Everybody" and "Summertime Blues." His all-too-brief career captured the 1950s teenage audience with his young looks, rebellious attitude and classic appearance of a 1950s rocker. During his life he experimented with multi-track recording, distortion techniques and overdubbing, and has since achieved an iconic status since his death. Gretsch decided to pay a great homage to this legendary guitarist by producing an exact replica of his guitar, along with authentic markings just like the original.

Iconic Guitar

This legendary guitar features an open body construction design crafted from arched laminated maple, delivering a warm, resonant tone. A pair of classic 'F' sound holes are also featured on the soundboard, which allow the natural sound to be projected acoustically. These elegantly cut holes, also provide a classic look that many guitarists associate with the 1950s era. As well as offering a a lightweight construction, this signature model also features a western maple stain that will stand out from any stage.

Pickups

Like the original model, the G6120LH is equipped with a DynaSonic™ Single-Coil pickup in the bridge position, and a Lindy Fralin "Dog Ear" Single-Coil pickup on the neck. The DynaSonic single-coil pickup has been a Gretsch standard since the late 1940s, and was one of the first pickups to offer individually adjustable pole-pieces. DynaSonic pickups deliver shimmering highs and a rich, full bass response. This powerful combination of pickups provides classic vintage tones, perfect for recreating that iconic 1950s tone that made Eddie Cochran memorable.

This iconic replica model features all the legendary elements of the original model, including a translucent plexi pickguard with Gretsch logo, Bigsby® "B6GBVF" tailpiece with Aluminum Bridge, red side dot position markers, pearloid western block inlays of Cactus, and Steer heads and fences across the rosewood fingerboard. An Eddie Cochran Signature is featured on the Truss Rod Cover, and a deluxe hardshell case is also included.
