Flexible pickup setup for varied bass tones
The Chicago Left Handed Bass Guitar combines two pickup styles to provide a useful range of sounds. The bridge single-coil brings brightness and clarity, helping notes cut through when playing with a band. Meanwhile, the split-coil pickup at the neck adds warmth and weight to the low end. Blending the pickups using the dual volume controls lets you shape your tone for different genres. Two tone controls allow further adjustment of treble response, helping you move easily between rounded bass sounds and sharper, more defined tones.
Comfortable design that encourages longer practice
The bass is built with a lightweight Paulownia body that helps reduce fatigue when playing for extended periods. Its ergonomic contours sit comfortably against your body whether you play standing or seated. Wide cutaways also make it easier to reach the upper frets, giving your fretting hand more freedom across the entire neck. Together, these features make the instrument feel approachable and comfortable from the first session onward.
Smooth maple neck for fluid movement
The maple neck has a natural satin finish that keeps your hand moving smoothly along the fretboard. This finish reduces drag while shifting positions, which is especially useful when moving quickly between basslines and higher notes. A comfortable C-shaped profile fits naturally in the hand, while the 24 medium-jumbo frets provide plenty of playing space. The poplar laminate fretboard adds durability and contributes to clear note definition.
Everything you need to get started
The Chicago Left Handed Bass Guitar arrives with practical accessories that help you start playing straight away. A gig bag protects the instrument during travel or storage, while the included jack cable connects your bass to an amp. You’ll also receive a strap, plectrums, and Allen keys for simple adjustments. Combined with sealed die-cast tuners and a stable bridge design, these features make the bass reliable for everyday practice, rehearsals, and early live performances.
