The Katana Artist Gen 3 features a specially designed 12-inch Waza speaker built for the power and response of a 100-watt combo. Its voicing draws inspiration from classic British stack speakers, giving you the familiar midrange presence and punch associated with traditional stage rigs. Higher power handling keeps the sound clear and controlled, even when the amp is pushed harder. The custom cabinet design also supports this character, helping the speaker project clearly on stage while maintaining detail and balance across clean tones, driven sounds, and heavier settings.

Expanded amp voices and expressive feel

Six amp characters give you a wide tonal foundation for different styles of playing. Alongside established Katana sounds, the Pushed character adds a responsive option that sits between clean and driven tones. Each amp type includes a selectable variation, expanding the available range without overcomplicating the controls. The Bloom switch further adjusts the amp’s response, engaging a dedicated circuit that reshapes how the amp reacts to your playing. This makes it easier to dial in a feel that suits your technique, whether you prefer tight attack or a more open response.

Flexible onboard effects and tone shaping

Five independent effects sections keep the Katana Artist organised while offering plenty of sound-shaping options. Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections can be combined and adjusted directly on the amp, giving you quick access to layered sounds without external pedals. A dedicated Solo section adds a level boost and delay when you need to step forward in a mix. Contour controls shape the overall tonal colour, while three Global EQ options help tailor the amp to different rooms, stages, or cabinets. Cabinet Resonance modes also adjust the low-end behaviour for Vintage, Modern, or Deep response.

Advanced connectivity and wireless control

This combo is designed to integrate easily into modern guitar setups. Power Amp In allows you to connect external preamps, modellers, or multi-effects units, while the send/return loop supports additional pedals. USB-C connectivity lets you record directly into music production software, complete with IR-based cabinet sound for line outputs and headphones. MIDI input enables deeper remote control, and the Stereo Expand function links with a second Katana amp for a wider setup. Install the included BT-DUAL adaptor and you can stream audio or edit settings wirelessly through the BOSS Tone Studio mobile app.
