Auto Level Mode continuously manages input gain while you record, helping prevent audio that’s too quiet or distorted when levels change. This is especially useful when recording spoken word or dynamic performances where manual adjustments can be distracting. You can still fine-tune settings at any time, but the presets provide a reliable starting point when time is limited.

For more control, the Shure MOTIV Audio, Video, and Mix apps let you shape your sound in detail. You can manually adjust mic gain, apply compression, use the five-band EQ, and engage a high-pass filter to reduce low-frequency rumble. The real-time Denoiser targets constant background noise such as fans or HVAC systems, helping spoken recordings stay clear. These settings are stored in the microphone, so your chosen sound carries over into other compatible recording apps.
