The PLAYdifferently MODEL 1 is a professional six-channel analogue DJ and performance mixer engineered by Andy Rigby-Jones and co-designed with electronic music artist Richie Hawtin. Built in the UK, the MODEL 1 approaches mixing as a creative performance instrument, combining premium analogue circuitry with extensive filtering, routing and sound-shaping controls.

Six fully featured input channels are complemented by two stereo returns, allowing complex setups incorporating decks, media players, external effects and performance equipment. Each main channel incorporates analogue drive, contouring high and low-pass filters and PLAYdifferently's distinctive Sculpt EQ, providing precise control over the frequency content of a mix.

Custom studio-grade TKD 60mm faders provide precise level control, while two independent cue systems make the MODEL 1 particularly suited to collaborative performances. Three high-performance phono preamps accommodate turntables, and dual stereo sends provide extensive routing options for external processors and effects.

Designed around completely analogue signal processing, the MODEL 1 features a fully balanced mix bus with more than 112dB of dynamic range. Balanced Tascam DB25 connections, dual power-supply capability and Mixer Link connectivity further enhance its suitability for professional touring, club and studio installations.
