What's the difference in sound?
The Vic Firth American Classic 5B Chop Out Practice Drumsticks offer a unique sound on drums and cymbals due to the rubber tips – perfect for special effects. The rubber tips eliminate the wood to metal contact sound of regular sticks whilst adding extra attack to the sound, this allows you to control the contact on the cymbal to achieve unique timbres.
The Chop Out Practice Drumsticks are perfect for doing cymbal swells and special effect sounds, adding an extra layer to your drum sound.
Unique rubber tips
The special moulded rubber design creates a secure grip on the existing tip and allows for easy and repeated application and removal. The hardness of the rubber tip produces an authentic feel and creates interesting timbres when played on drums and cymbals.
The rubber tips provide an authentic stick feel with great stick responses – perfect for practice on virtually any surface.
Time invested manufacturing
The Vic Firth drumsticks undergo a vigorous manufacturing process and testing stages to ensure each stick meets the Vic Firth quality standard. After approximately 16 steps of honing, refining, and finishing, the Vic Firth sticks are finally ready. No one else invests that much time and energy in creating the perfect pair of sticks.

The perfect wood - hickory
American Classic Hickory Drumsticks are a combination of traditional and Vic Firth style. They show off bold designs and are made from hickory, which is a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also great at dealing with shock, making it extremely durable.
