The TD516 includes Roland's premium 14” digital snare (PD-140DS) and 14” digital hi-hats (VH-14D), both designed for nuanced, acoustic-style play. These pads detect position, velocity, and technique with high precision, offering subtle tonal variation depending on where and how you play. Paired with the CY-18DR digital ride, this setup makes dynamic expression feel completely natural, whether you’re ghosting soft notes or laying into a full-on groove.
Customise your sound with deep editing and sampling
The V51 module gives you serious creative control. You can shape every layer of every pad with EQ, compression, transient editing, and more. Import up to 500 WAV samples to expand your kit with your own sounds, and save multiple variations. Whether you want to build a personal hybrid kit or tweak factory kits for a better mix, the tools are already built-in.
Practice tools that actually help you improve
More than a basic metronome, the onboard Coach section is a full toolkit for skill-building. Use Time Check to tighten your accuracy, Phrase Trainer for loop-based drills, or the Blast Beat Trainer to push your speed. It even includes a Stroke Monitor to track how consistently you’re playing—ideal for refining stick control and dynamic balance without needing extra gear.
