A 13" x 7" snare drum produces a sound that blends depth and resonance, making it fuller and more complex compared to smaller snares. The 13" diameter gives it a deeper, rounder tone, while the 7" depth adds significant body and resonance, resulting in a richer and more resonant sound. The tone is generally more pronounced and longer in sustain compared to smaller, shallower snares. The attack remains sharp, but the 13" size provides a slightly lower pitch with more tuning versatility, making it ideal for players who seek a deeper, more powerful snare sound. With strong projection and a bold, dynamic tone, it's well-suited for both live performances and studio recordings. 

Birch shells, known for their bright, punchy tone and quick attack, offer excellent projection and a naturally EQ’d sound with reduced overtones, making them ideal for clarity and control in both live and recording settings. A 7.5mm, 6-ply birch shell enhances these characteristics by delivering a balanced and focused sound, combining richness, fullness, and durability. The shell’s thickness boosts projection and attack, producing a sharp, defined crack with good sustain, while the 6-ply construction adds strength and stability under heavy playing. This combination results in a versatile, powerful drum that stands out in the mix and suits a wide range of musical styles.

Hand-selected snare wires

42-strand snare wires deliver a fuller, more resonant, and tonally complex snare sound compared to the more common 20 or 24-strand options. By significantly increasing the number of wires in contact with the resonant head, they produce a greater amount of "buzz" resulting in a richer, fatter sound - especially effective on deeper snares or when tuned low. This enhances the dynamic range, offering more expressive control over volume and tone, and contributes to a more substantial, nuanced snare character. While they can slightly mute the resonant head due to the added mass, this can be beneficial in live settings where a tighter, more controlled snare response is preferred. 42-strand wires are valued for their added body, tonal depth, and suitability across genres that benefit from a more textured snare sound. 

Hardware built for sound and durability

1.5mm triple-flange drum hoops offer a slightly less focused, more open, and resonant sound compared to thicker hoops. Their thinner construction provides greater flexibility, allowing the drumhead to vibrate more freely, which enhances shell resonance and contributes to a fuller tone with a slightly brighter character. This gives the drum a more natural, expressive sound, making thinner hoops ideal for drummers seeking increased resonance and tonal complexity.
