A 12" x 6" snare drum produces a sound that strikes a balance between the bright, focused tone of smaller snares and the more resonant sound of larger drums.  The 12" diameter gives it a slightly deeper tone compared to smaller snares, resulting in a more rounded sound and fuller sound, while the 6" depth adds extra body and resonance. The tone is typically more pronounced than a shallower 5.5" snare, with a moderate sustain that isn’t overly long but more noticeable than that of a smaller snare. The attack remains sharp and punchy, but the 12" size provides a slightly lower pitch and richer tone. It works well in both live and studio settings, offering a good balance of projection and tonal depth, and is particularly suited for situations where a more robust snare sound is desired. 

Birch shells, known for their bright, punchy tone and quick attack, offer excellent projection and a naturally EQ’d sound with reduced overtones, making them ideal for clarity and control in both live and recording settings. A 7.5mm, 6-ply birch shell enhances these characteristics by delivering a balanced and focused sound, combining richness, fullness, and durability. The shell’s thickness boosts projection and attack, producing a sharp, defined crack with good sustain, while the 6-ply construction adds strength and stability under heavy playing. This combination results in a versatile, powerful drum that stands out in the mix and suits a wide range of musical styles.

Hand-selected snare wires

20-strand snare wires are a widely used standard on many snare drums, offering a balanced sound that combines crisp snare response with the natural tone of the drum. They deliver a snappy and articulate sound, allowing individual snare notes to cut through clearly, while still preserving the body and tone of the drum. This balance makes them a versatile option suitable for a range of musical styles.  

Hardware built for sound and durability

1.5mm triple-flange drum hoops offer a slightly less focused, more open, and resonant sound compared to thicker hoops. Their thinner construction provides greater flexibility, allowing the drumhead to vibrate more freely, which enhances shell resonance and contributes to a fuller tone with a slightly brighter character. This gives the drum a more natural, expressive sound, making thinner hoops ideal for drummers seeking increased resonance and tonal complexity.

The mounted shell bracket and memory lock, compatible with any 10.5mm diameter L-rod, allows both drummers and percussionists to easily and securely incorporate this snare drum into their existing setup.
