Key Features
Hand-crafted excellence. The Stentor Arcadia double bass is one of the best basses that Stentor has to offer. Boasting a hand-carved body from the most select, highly figured tonewoods, the Stentor Arcadia double bass is the ideal choice for advancing students.
What really makes the Arcadia bass stand out is how it's made. Handcrafted by one, highly skilled craftsman, each Arcadia is a unique instrument that reflects the individuality of its master. Once finished, the Arcadia double bass is finished in a gorgeous shellac varnish.
Just like basses that cost ten times the price, the Arcadia has full Ebony fittings. Not only will these be more comfortable for you, but the Ebony will also be durable and hardwearing. To complete the Arcadia, it's strung with flexible core strings which offer a lovely tone.

Each and every part of the Stentor Arcadia bass has been set up by hand. Individually carved by the most skilled workers in a specialist workshop, each double bass is produced under the close supervision of one master maker. This traditional luthier workflow is exactly how basses were made hundreds of years ago.
The Spruce top and Maple back, sides, and neck have all been individually carved to provide the best possible sound. The fitted bridge has been contoured to match the shape of the fitted fingerboard, allowing for optimum feel and ease of playing. The fine quality brass machine heads perfectly complement the hand-carved pegbox - perfectly designed for easy tuning. Finally, a shellac varnish is applied for an instantly recognisable traditional finish.
The Stentor Arcadia has been given some of the best fittings available to make a truly professional instrument. Ebony was chosen for the fingerboard because of its super-fine grain which is very resistant to moisture. As a result, the Ebony fittings won't warp or bulge over time, making the instrument long-lasting and easy to maintain. Ebony is also a tough wood, meaning it is less susceptible to damage.
