Analogue Systems RS-300 CV to MIDI Converter

Details

The Analogue Systems RS-300 CV to MIDI Converter converts analog control voltages into MIDI, allowing you to control your keyboards and modules using analogue synthesizers, sequencers, and controllers. This allows you to control your MIDI gear in a completely new way, extending the possibilities of your analog synthesizers. The RS-300 offers 8 free programmable CV inputs that can produce note numbers or controllers. All inputs can generate an after touch command, pitch bend, or a controller from 0-127. When used with an analog sequencer and a rhythm machine, live drum programming and performance is possible.

Control Analog Equipment

The RS-300 takes control voltages from your synthesizer, and then converts them into MIDI messages, allowing you to control them with your eurorack modules. For example, you could use an Analogue Systems RS-200 analog sequencer to control the pitch of oscillator 1. The possibilities are endless. Experiment and take control of your analog equipment in a completely new way. All the 8 inputs are able to generate after touch command, pitch bend, or a controller from 0-127.

CV1 & CV2 Special Functions

In addition, CV1 and CV2 have special functions. CV1 is suitable for generating note commands. A new note will be sent whenever there is a transition reaching a semitone to CV1 as well as note on/off command. You can set a fixed velocity, transpose the note by up to +/-36 semitones, delay notes, and more. CV2 can generate velocities, ideal for creating dynamics in your MIDI signal. CV1 needs to be set to note mode and fixed velocity must be turned off.

CV To MIDI

The RS-300 is designed specifically to accept analog voltages and output MIDI messages. This allows you to control your digital keyboards and modules using analog synthesizers, sequencers and controllers. A variety of 7-bit MIDI messages can be generated with the RS-300. Such things as pitch bend, after touch data, MIDI CC messages, MIDI note data, and velocity information can be generated.
