The Sherman Filterbank 2 Classic is an analog filtering and distortion modular system. The compact and robust unit improves its design from the original unit. Providing you with 5 new switches and an extra input for a footpedal. Other new additions include 2 new LEDs and an improved varnish layer. The internal electronics have also been upgraded and optimised to achieve exceptional audio fidelity and performance. A 3-way switch has now been added on the input stage, allowing for Hi Boosts and Hi Cuts. A range of other 3-way switches have also been added including a dedicated witch for ‘Sensitrig and ‘Limit’ which change the way the filters work, even allowing for self-oscillation if the input stage is overdriven to the extreme.
This powerful analog filtering and distortion system is ideal for sound processing and effect mixing, as well as being ideal for expanding modular systems. As well as providing a range of filter including low pass, band pass and high pass filters, the system also features resonance, frequency and ADSR controls. These parameters can be toggled between parallel or serial. The second filter on the Filterbank 2 Classic boasts a 6 octave switch, which can be synchronised with the first filter for optimal flexibility. The ADSR generator for the filter features an external output, allowing you to use it with more filter banks or other modular equipment. The overdrive circuit is comprised of a VCA overdrive complete with AR generator and a ring modulator input. It provides internal or external audio vid LFO or CV.
The retro-style attenuators feature colour-coded lines for quick and easy access. The attenuators are designed for optimal precision when it comes to dialling in your required levels. A 3-way switch is included for the powerful ‘tracking; function. This acts as a monophonic pitch follower, tuning the second filter to the incoming pitch, in turn making the first filter a slave of the second via the harmonics switch. You can change the way this function reacts to a normal or deep position, resulting in a powerful and punchy low-end. A 3-way function switch is also included for the LFO section, allowing you to use the sawtooth waves shape as a retrigger, forcing the LFO to restart from the AR trig.
The compact yet robust design is ideal for both stage and studio applications. The Sherman Filterbank 2 Classic is not only compact but portable thanks to its lightweight design and small size. This versatile filtering and distortion unit features a range of new LED indicators including na 5mm big green LED indicating when an effect is in use on the ‘FB 2’. An extra white LED is designed to indicate when the tracking system is locked on for added flexibility. The rear of the unit features a wide range of connectivity including MIDI I/O. There is also a range of ¼-inch connections for the Main out, Trigger AM, ADSR, Signal Input and more.
