The Yamaha A4K features a sonically-powerful dreadnought cutaway body that offers superb projection and volume whilst maintaining overall tonal balance. Additionally, the dreadnought body ensures a rich, full, and bold acoustic sound that is ideal for a wide variety of genres and techniques including rock, pop, indie, folk, blues, country, as well as flatpicking, fingerpicking, and medium strength strumming patterns. In particular, the solid mixture of tonewoods deliver a tone that make the A4K especially suited to the fingerpicking enthusiast. The A4K's big body blended with its solid tonewood construction also offers a powerful response with plenty of resonance and sustain. Furthermore, the Yamaha A4K offers a comfortable playing experience throughout both seated and standing performance due to its slightly slimmer dimensions. The player is also able to hold the A4K close to the body for longer periods of time, perfect for enduring gigs and practice sessions whilst its cutaway profile offers added comfort with easy access to upper frets.
The Yamaha A4K Electro Acoustic features a body constructed entirely from solid Hawaiian koa, which not only offers a beautiful visual appeal and superb tone, but delivers a sweeter, warmer tone with age. Additionally, Hawaiian koa provides the Yamaha A4K with a beautifully focused mid-range and a bright, sparkling top-end and plenty of chime, contributing to its beautiful response to picking techniques. In addition, the more this solid wood construction is played, the more it opens up and provides the player with a richly-sweet, warm, and resonant acoustic voice. Furthermore, the A4K also produces superb mid-range overtones, making it ideal for a wide variety of fingerpicking techniques.
Equipped with versatile and responsive SRT2 electronics, the Yamaha A4k is perfect for live work, tours, studio settings, and session work. The Studio Responsive Technology electronics are designed to recreate the sound of a professional studio vintage microphone, ensuring the amplified tone is pure and natural. In addition, the Yamaha A4K offers a choice between two different mic settings, which can both be blended with the piezo pickup. Furthermore, the SRT2 also features an auto feedback detector that prevents undesirable feedback when performing live.
Constructed from African mahogany, the A4k's neck offers a quick and dynamic response with added warmth and resonance. In addition, mahogany's nature allows it to respond superbly to a wide variety of techniques whilst projecting each subtle nuance of an individual's playing style beautifully. Furthermore, the smooth playing neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard which adds a bright attack, plenty of bite and great sustain to the guitar's overall tone.
The Yamaha A4K features the A Series's latest scalloped bracing pattern, which not only prevents the guitar from collapsing under string tension but enhances the overall tonal output. Additionally, the A4K's scalloped bracing increases the guitar's volume whilst dramatically improving its low-end response. Overall, the A Series bracing pattern provides the player with a louder, richer, fuller-sounding guitar with increased volume and projection.
