Key Features
The Fender Custom Shop 1960 Strat is a tribute to a golden-era classic, featuring a two-piece alder body in an aged honey blonde Journeyman Relic finish. It pairs period-correct styling with subtle modern touches for a worn-in feel that’s inspiring from the first chord. The nitro lacquer finish allows the wood to breathe and resonate, while the vintage contours and light ageing offer the vibe of a well-loved original without the wear of a full relic.
Equipped with Custom Shop Fat '60s pickups, you get the chime and warmth of the early '60s Strat tone, with enhanced midrange and clarity. The comfortable '60 Oval "C" maple neck is topped with a 9.5" African Blackwood fingerboard and 6105 frets, blending vintage feel with modern playability. Every detail is carefully chosen to deliver a premium, stage-ready Strat with timeless tone and road-worn charm.

The Fender Custom Shop 1960 Strat is a stunning blend of vintage tone and contemporary comfort. Its carefully selected two-piece alder body that brings out the classic tonal balance Stratocasters are known for - rich lows, scooped mids, and shimmering highs. A set of Custom Shop Fat '60s single-coil pickups honour the dynamic heritage of the Strat, delivering warm, glassy tones of the early ‘60s with added midrange bite. The middle pickup is reverse-wound for hum cancellation in positions two and four, offering that signature Strat quack without the unwanted noise. Combined with a 5-way selector and vintage-style controls, you can easily dial in a range of tones suited to any genre.
This model sports a Journeyman Relic finish in aged honey blonde - a striking and refined take on a timeless colour. The Journeyman treatment gives the guitar the appearance of light wear accumulated over decades, without looking excessively distressed. Expect subtle lacquer checking, mild finish sink, and gently aged hardware that captures a sense of history. A nitrocellulose lacquer finish lets the wood breathe and resonate naturally, improving tonal responsiveness while delivering the look and feel of a lovingly played vintage instrument.
Playability is front and centre with the Fender Custom Shop 1960 Strat thanks to its well-crafted neck profile and modern fretboard radius. The maple neck is shaped to a '60-style oval “C” profile that offers comfort for both intricate chord shapes and expressive lead work. African Blackwood serves as the fingerboard material, adding warmth to the tone and a smooth, responsive feel. With a 9.5" radius and 6105 narrow tall frets, it’s designed for expressive playing and clean bends without fretting out. Every detail, from nut to heel, is engineered to support long sessions and demanding performances.
True to its era, this Stratocaster includes a relic’d American Vintage bridge with six saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, and a parchment pickguard—all slightly aged for authenticity. The attention to detail extends to the knobs, switch tip, and string tree, each one carefully selected and treated to complement the guitar’s relic aesthetic. Even the small ‘60s-style headstock carries a vintage-correct “offset contour body” decal for added authenticity. The guitar comes complete with a Custom Shop brown case, certificate of authenticity, and period-appropriate accessories. Every element has been meticulously chosen and applied, resulting in a premium Stratocaster that stands out in tone, style, and craftsmanship.
