Yamaha – Going The Extra Mile

06/09/2022

So, you’ve bought your shiny new instrument. Now what? It’s such an exciting time when you open the case to your first instrument. Maybe you’ve been borrowing one or maybe you’ve just upgraded to your dream horn or violin, but once the buzz has settled, what do you do next?

Yamaha not only provide high-quality instruments with generations of craftsmanship behind them, but they’ve also considered what happens after your purchase. They help answer the questions, “what do I do now that I have the instrument and what happens if something goes wrong?”

Why buy Yamaha?

Everyone knows Yamaha. From pianos to motorbikes and everything in between, their high-quality products are borne from years of research and innovation.

Back in 1887, Torakusu Yamaha himself manufactured his first product, a reed organ, showing that Yamaha is first and foremost a musical instrument manufacturer. Even the symbol is three tuning forks overlapping!

Yamaha have stood the test of time, with countless musicians turning to them for their first instrument right the way through to their forever instrument.

Master craftsmen and ateliers put the same high level of detail and quality control shown in their professional instruments into their student instruments.

In fact, quite often, you’ll find that some of the features from the pro line have filtered down to the more intermediate or student range, giving them that familiar feel and sense of security as you progress through your musical journey.

Japanese craftsmanship is known to be amongst the best in the world. Their high attention to detail, training, and standards help them strive to be the best in their field. Whether their instruments are made in Japanese factories or in other Yamaha-owned factories, the standards are the same.

Five-year free extended warranty

To really highlight their commitment to producing instruments of a high standard, Yamaha are proud to offer a free five-year extended warranty against any manufacturing faults when registered within six months of purchase.

Three months free Premium TomPlay subscription

Now that you have a premium-level instrument, what next? This question has prompted Yamaha to collaborate with Tomplay, resulting in a three-month premium subscription with the purchase of a qualifying instrument.

So… what is Tomplay?

Tomplay gives students of all abilities access to over 40,000 interactive sheet music titles. These cover a whole host of different instruments, from piano to wind and brass instruments and music theory.

Each piece of music has an interactive, scrolling score that can annotate and print. Plus, you can play along to a high-quality backing track recorded by pro musicians.

From experience using this app, one particular highlight has to be using it with the YDS-150 and playing ‘Baker Street’ streamed through the YDS and wirelessly to an amp! There are hours of fun to be had!

Orchestral and Keyboards Merchandiser

Tom is a bit of a geek when it comes to orchestral and keys products…well…most things really! He’s studied music from a young age and is a keen clarinet and saxophone player and plays in numerous ensembles including a wind band, funk band, and clarinet group.
