Spotlight: The Redefined Premier Elite

08/11/2022

Since launching in 2003, the drums of Premier’s Elite series continue to be synonymous with professional drummers who seek the very best in quality and sound performance.

For Premier’s centennial year, Elite drums have been redefined. They feature an all-new Elite shell formula as a result of extensive research and development.

Working closely with producers, engineers, and drummers, various shell types and ply combinations were experimented with. The aim? To discover a blend that produced the best sound.

What’s does the Elite series have to offer?

The redefined Elite series offers a range of shell pack sizes and finishes, as seen below:

There’s also a variety of individual drums on offer, across of range of colours. These drums include bass drums, rack toms, floor toms, and snare drums.

The Premium blended shell formula

Constructed from a carefully balanced 2-ply North American birch and maple formula, Premier Elite meets the needs of the professional drummer. Each shell’s thin 4.8mm build relays every nuance of your performance, granting absolute expression.

The combination of its thin construction and blended ply ensures Elite shells deliver a full-bodied tone. Transparent high and low boosts then add weight and presence. This makes them instantly suited to studio recording and live sound, whilst still retaining their natural qualities.

Tom fills feel articulate and tuning becomes easier with 3mm undersized tom shells. This allows the drumheads to sit flatter over the bearing edge, improving their tone and sustain.

Specially-engineered hardware for optimal performance

The Premier Elite 22 drum kitSound quality and playability are further enhanced through the drum’s low-profile ISO mounting system. Stylish, chrome, low-mass Elite lugs deliver maximum shell resonance whilst 2.3mm triple-flange hoops reduce any undesirable overtones.

The brass wires on the underside of Elite snare drums ensure a much brighter, warmer tone than their steel counterparts. Ideal for live performances, the anti-rust design of brass snare wires ensures a long-lasting life. This makes them ideal for shows in all levels of humidity.

OTHER HARDWARE INCLUDES:

  • Tom/floor bracket with integral memory lock design
  • 3mm triple-flange steel hoops
  • Heavy-duty 610 snare strainer
  • Remo UT drumheads

A range of stage-ready finishes

As with every Premier drum kit, the importance of Elite finishes extends way beyond aesthetics. Each offering has its own unique benefits that will enhance the drummer’s experience.

For touring drummers who spend their time on the road, gloss lacquer and sparkle lacquer finishes are the way to go. The durability of these choices ensures Elite drums can stand the rigours of extensive use night after night. And they offer a breath-taking reaction to stage and venue lighting.

Players who spend more time in the studio will be drawn to a satin finish kit. Its unlacquered design offers the purest tone for the ultimate, unrestricted wood shell experience.
