They might be primarily known for their clarinets, but Leblanc’s new range of saxophones has reminded us that the brand are experienced in all kinds of woodwinds. Now, with their pre-NAMM launch of seven saxophones, advanced and professional saxophonists can enjoy premium-quality instruments with excellent sound projection and extremely fast key action.
What’s on offer?
Within this array of sparkling new saxes, we have the Avant Soprano, Avant Alto, Avant Tenor, Premiere Soprano, Premiere Alto, Premiere Tenor, and Premiere Baritone.
All of these models are constructed from yellow brass and feature a one-piece design. This allows the instrument to reverberate smoothly, without any weak points interrupting the flow of sound, giving you a seamless, clear tone across all registers.
They also boast blue steel springs and Pisoni pads with metal resonators, allowing for a responsive, effortless feel as you switch between keys whilst providing these keys with a superb, secure seal and durability.
To give you more versatility in your playing, the new Leblanc saxophones feature auxiliary keys high F# and front F, with an added high G for the soprano models.
All instruments are finished with beautiful hand engravings and come with a sturdy carry case and a mouthpiece.
Avant vs. Premiere – what’s the difference?
The Avant range of saxes has been meticulously crafted to meet the needs of intermediate players seeking a high-quality, reliable sax. On the other hand, the Premiere saxophones are more professional grade.
These Premiere instruments are hand-adjusted for fast key action, whilst an F-dampening bar minimises excess vibration and a C# mechanism offers precise intonation. The baritone, in particular, features a four-point bell brace and double-arm low C, B, and Bb keys for some added stability – exactly what you need for such a commanding instrument!
