Innovative design
Producing a rich tone is all about the design of the mouthpiece. Because of the uniquely small chamber of the Wanne Water ART Mouthpiece, the sound is tightly compressed through the saxophone neck, so the tone is pure and clean. This also means that the mouthpiece provides fantastic intonation and response, which is particularly important in classical music.
To complement this, the Shark-Gill Baffle allows the airflow to travel faster to ensure the sound is crisp and articulate. The ridges on the baffle create just the right amount of resistance to simultaneously channel and disrupt the airstream, allowing the air to travel efficiently into the chamber. This works similar to a shark's gill when water passes over it. This style of baffle means the mouthpiece won't feel clogged or that you have to fight to project the sound. The small chamber works in conjunction with the Shark-Gill Baffle to create a rich, concentrated tone.
Revolutionary ART
The Theo Wanne ART material helps to produce an expressive, traditional sound. When developing this product, Theo Wanne found that ART was the only material with better resonance qualities than vintage hard rubber. Also, ART will not oxidise, change colour or smell when left in the sun or heat like hard rubber can, so the Water ART mouthpiece is great for playing outside or in varying climate conditions.
