Pushing the boundaries on what's available with one effect plugin, the XILS 5000 Vocoder provides you with a flexible and versatile patching matrix, whereby you can connect any band of the analysis filter to any band of the synthesis filter bank. Here, you can really think outside of the box and drastically alter the sound of your vocoder, experiment with replacing a male voice with a females voice through the analysis filter or experiment with electronic instruments to create otherworldly sounds.
Not simply used for creating trippy and outlandish sounds, the Matrix is also extremely useful when sculpting sounds using non-conventional instruments such as drums as a modulator.
The heart and soul of every vocoder is the filter bank, the quality of which determines the overall quality of the effect itself. Using highly accurate modelling, the filter algorithms in XILS 5000 Vocoder are extremely responsive, un-wrapped with zero-delay behaviour. Using proprietary techniques, XILS 5000 splits the filter bank into both Modulator and Carrier signals to bands of equal width, providing arguably the most accurate software vocoder ever made.
Taking advantage of the benefits of the digital domain, XILS 5000 Vocoder employs a number of features to comply with modern studio productions, such as a Ponderation curve and Emphasis tweak. Adjusting the ponderation curve allows you to adapt the filters of each bands curve to create a smooth and warm bass response, whilst preserving clarity. Additionally, you can choose the number of bands between 22 or 20 and the slope of the filters from 12/18/24dB per octave.

Craft incredibly transparent sounds with little to no colouration for unrivalled sound quality that's never before been heard in software vocoders. A very simple module with only a Threshold, Frequency and Smoothness knob, you can cater your effect to a multitude of different voice styles or instrument styles to get the best results possible.
A slew rate module has been designed to work alongside the voice detection module to create the smoothest and most transparent effect possible within your signal. The Slew Rate module analysis the input filter bank and applies the results to a synthesis filter bank, creating a sleek and focused rendition of your sound to make the results extremely understandable when processed.
Much like the hardware sibling, the XILS 5000 Vocoder features the Frequency Shifter effect for adding a whole new spectrum of tones to your signal. Quite simply, the XILS 5000 shifts the entire signal by a certain frequency to drastically alter the sound and character of your vocoder, letting you dial in certain effects for different voices and applications. Depending on the set frequency, you can subtly alter your timbre or send it into overdrive with ring modulation-like effects. Giving you full access to tone-shaping and sound design, the Frequency shifter features several parameters, such as Level and Panoramic for stereo processing and control, with more advanced settings also present for deep control and editing.
