Key Features
Achieving great drum sounds has never easier thanks to the Presonus DM-7 Seven-Piece Drum Microphone Set, with Case. Whether you're on stage, or in the studio. Drums are absolutely crucial. They form the backbone of any performance or production. That's why it's important you have a solid set of microphones to capture them. Each microphone within this set has been crafted to provide optimised results. Without compromise.
The BD-1 is your dedicated kick drum microphone. Getting a great sound is as easy as pointing the microphone in front of the source and pressing record. The set also includes four premium quality ST-4s. The abundance of body and attack they provide make them a "go-to" for snares and toms. Microphone stands become a thing of the past thanks to the inclusion of microphone clips. These eliminate the need for big bulky set-ups. Simply clip them on and you're good to go.
Add width and depth to your recordings with the OH-2 microphones. These small diaphragm condensers are the ultimate choice for any task that requires stereo capture. The comprehensive nature of the DM-7 allows you to capture every nuance of your drum kit, with outstanding quality. It will be a welcomed addition to any microphone locker.

Kick drums are the driving force of most tracks. Because of this they should be big and bold. Don't just settle on hearing the kick, feel it too! Thanks to Presonus, getting a great kick sound is as simple as placing the dynamic microphone next to the drum. The BD-1's cardioid polar pattern provides an incredibly focused capture with up to 6 dB of rejection at the sides. With careful positioning, this rejection will come in handy for isolating your kick from cymbals and other undesirable bleed that can detract from its impact.
The tailored frequency response empowers you with a great kick sound straight out of the box. Its generous boost of low and high frequencies allow you to achieve "thud" and "impact", whilst the dip in the low-mids is great for reducing "mud" in the 200-500Hz region. Because of its response, the BD-1 is also a great choice for bass cabinets and brass instruments.
The ST4s are designed to provide you with plenty of body and attack. They're the natural choice to use on toms, snares and guitar cabinets. If you're working in compact spaces, don't worry about microphone stands. These dynamics are designed to easily clip on to your drum-kit. This also makes them ideal for live, and filmed sessions, where positioning should be sparse and discrete.
The key to a great drum sound often lies in the overhead microphones. Not only are they useful for capturing your cymbals, you can also use them to add dimension and depth to your snare, and toms. Thanks to their subtle high frequency boost your recordings will sound record-ready before any further processing is applied. This allows you to get great sounds at source that will continually inspire and bring out the best in any performer.
Like all of the microphones included in the DM-7, The OH-2s aren't just limited to drums. They're great to use on any acoustic instrument, especially those that benefit from a stereo capture such as acoustic guitar, choirs, strings, and piano.
