Powered by four analog-modelled oscillators split across two layers and with unique modulation features and expanded performance, the AX73 unleashes your creative potential like no other. Each layer features a meticulously modelled analog, self-oscillating filter, chorus and modulation from four envelopes or four LFOs all presented in a user-friendly interface with no menu-diving required. The Martinic AX73 boasts an arpeggiator per layer, taken from a different synthesizer within the family lineup of products, alongside the inclusion of a myriad of post-effects that can be re-ordered to suit your needs, letting you add the final professional touches to your sound. Vintage tones and character meets contemporary design and workflow. The cost of owning a vintage synthesizer from the '80s can often be more than the initial purchase cost. Vintage parts and components will often tend to drift, meaning upkeep and maintenance is essential in keeping your instrument in top condition. Fortunately, this doesn't need to be a reality as the AX73 by Martinic is a meticulous recreation of the tones from the original hardware with the added benefit of digital plug-ins.
The interface presents a familiar layout to the original, with all the internal mapping included on a dedicated page to craft your tone from the ground up with no complicated menu-diving necessary. A robust preset manager allows you to save all of your favourite sounds into collections, easily exporting them to use in any future sessions with ease.
External effects are provided with the AX73 to add the finishing touches to your sound to add professional shine and shimmer to your tracks. Outside of the synthesizer itself, the effects can be re-ordered within the signal path via simple drag and drop, enabling you to experiment with unique effect combinations. Eight effects are provided in total, comprising of a compressor, chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, reverb, distortion and EQ.
Fully loaded with all the parameters you need to customise your sound, the onboard effects are studio-quality to ensure no processing is needed outside of the plug-in. Add punch and power to percussive, staccato sawtooth sounds with the compressor or soften the attack of a soft pad to sit the sound further back within your mix. The wide range of modulation and time-based effects are ideal for adding space and dimension to your sound. Flanger and phaser both include a width control for enhancing your stereo image, whilst the chorus features four unique modes to find the right sound for your synthesizer. Cut through dense mixes with added harmonics and overtones using the distortion effect and sculpt and shape the overall tone with the three-band EQ.
Taking inspiration from all other synths within the AX range, the Martinic AX73 distils the best elements from each synth into one plug-in. Ascending to the flagship of AX synthesizers, the AX73 includes different chorus settings and additional arpeggiator modes from the AX60, a second VCO and sub-oscillator from the AX80 and an extended VCO octave range featured in both the AX60 and 80.
Taking advantage of all the digital domain has to offer, the flexibility of the AX73 far exceeds what was ever capable on the hardware counterpart. An improved modulation capability allows you to creatively manipulate your sounds in ways that weren't possible on the original, crafting fresh and exciting sounds to take your tracks to the next level. Four envelopes per layer with three assignable envelopes combines with four assignable LFOs per layer to provide a formidable eight envelopes and eight LFOs per layer. With seven modulation destinations including the VCF, VCO, VCA level, Resonance, PWM, OWFM and panning control, there's virtually no end to how you can adjust your sound, the only limit is your creativity.
Offering a tremendous level of control and flexibility, the AX73 can be split across the keyboard, enabling you to perform with two different patches simultaneously, or stacked to provide an extra dimension of sound design. Each layer features a slew of independently assignable effects, modulation or processing to give you complete freedom for your sound design. Pink noise generators, analog-modelled self-oscillating filters, dual VCOs, ADSR envelope generators and LFO modulation are all presented to create the sounds you want without compromise. An ideal solution for live performers, you can perform with a clean, sub-heavy sine wave with your left hand for clean bass notes whilst an ethereal, soft pad can be performed with your right hand.
