The QU-Bit Electronix Octone features 3 main modes of operation. These 3 modes are Standard, Ratchet, and Tune. In Standard mode the module performs as a normal 8-step sequencer, running through the 8 steps with an internal or external clock. Ratchet mode allows you to assign a certain number of ratchets to a step. The Tune mode allows you to manually select each individual step and adjust the pitch for each step, allowing you to accurately dial in the preferred note.
The Octone provides you with 6 scales to choose from. These allow you to adjust the pitch of each step, whilst still being attached to the scale, allowing you to play your sequence in a key. Once the scale is selected, the pitch knob will sweep through the available notes.
The Octone allows you to modify your sequence in various ways. You can choose the length of your sequence. You can choose between only having 1 step in the sequence, to all 8 steps. You can also adjust the speed of the sequence, as well as the direction of it. The Octone also features gate outputs that allow you to connect external modules for effect throws and timbre modulation for each note in your melody. Additionally, you can chain 2 Octones together to create a 16 step duophonic sequencer. With the combination of pitch and gate controls, the Octone allows you to create tonal melodies with intricate and interesting rhythmic patterns.
