The Dynaudio LYD 48 Active Studio Monitors feature a tri-amplified design with three individual custom, hand-crafted drivers for optimal audio performance. The Dynaudio LYD 48 Studio Monitors feature a 96kHz/24-bit signal path for enhanced accuracy as well as a selectable input sensitivity for catering to different applications. The bass reflex design of the Dynaudio LYD 48s provides an extended bass response, adding extra depth to your audio, ideal for mixing and mastering bass sections. The tri-amplified design features hand-crafted drivers designed from premium-quality material for the best sonic performance possible. The soft-dome silk tweeter comes with an aluminium voice coil, designed to reproduce upper frequencies a natural and uncoloured manner. This minimises any thermal distortion, removing the shrill high-frequency resonance that other monitors may encounter.
One of the most convenient and useful features of the Dynaudio LYD 48s is the built-in DSP. The three individual DSP controls allow you to cater to any room or space with ease. The ‘Bass Extension’ control adds to the bass reflex design, allowing you to extend or reduce the low frequency response by +10 Hz or -10Hz, giving you the ability to make changes to the low end response while retaining a linear frequency response. The ‘Position’ control helps to cater to your own space, changing the tuning for when the speaker is positioned against the wall or free-standing. The ‘Sound Balance’ control differs from simple Shelf-EQs featured on most standard studio monitors. The DSP control works as a ‘Tilt-Filter’ which means the speaker is tuned by titling the whole frequency response. This works by lifting one end of the frequency spectrum while lowering the other end by the same mount, retaining a linear phase response.
