Unique Guitar Design
The Bohemian Surf Wax Electric Guitar in Bohemian Ale finish is one of many truly unique designs based on improvised tin-can instruments from the streets of South Africa. It is constructed from a hollow metal body which interacts with custom pickups to produce a truly original sound. The metal responds in a completely unique way when compared to traditional wooden guitars and allows for brand new tones to be achieved. The responsive metallic body allows the player to use percussive techniques which simply wouldn't work on traditional electric guitars. The range of Bohemian Guitars feature different pickup combinations and visual designs to bring unique and different tones within the range. If you're looking for something truly different, you've found the right instrument here!
The Bohemian Surf Wax Model
The Bohemian Surf Wax model from Bohemian Guitars features one single-coil P90 pickup and is designed to be a simple yet versatile tone machine. This deceptively simple setup mean that with the volume and tone control you'll be able to find many different sounds in this guitar, ranging from bright twang to more mellow tones. It also performs brilliantly when overdriven and could be the unique foundation to your signature rock and blues sound. The guitar body is finished with a stylish blue and yellow Surf Wax graphic design and will really stand out from the crowd.
Metal Hollow Body
The Bohemian Surf Wax Guitar features a hollow metal body and is braced with wood for stability. It offers great resonance and unmatched responsiveness. The neck extends through the body to ensure stable tuning and performance. Each instrument features small rubber knobs to act as a built-in stand, and they have removable lids which are perfect for storing picks and small accessories. This is a lightweight guitar with an effortlessly stylish look.
Bohemian guitars now exclusively use maple necks for environmental sustainability and bright tones. They feature 21 frets with excellent access to the top frets and a familiar 21-1/2" scale length. For guitarists, this will provide a familiar experience and mean that your riffs and tricks will transfer across easily to this instrument.
Electronics & Hardware
Chrome hardware is featured on Bohemian Guitars with reliable closed screw-in tuners. A Tune-o-Matic bridge allows for intonation setup and stable tuning. A volume and tone control allows easy access to varied tones.
Bohemian Guitars was founded by brothers Adam and Shaun Lee to replicate the improvised guitars that they had seen on the streets of their hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa. After bringing the idea to the USA and making instruments for friends and family, they took the plunge and formed a company with financial backing from KickStarter donations.
Bohemian Guitars produce instruments which have a truly distinctive look and sound. They have a vibrant community of players and endorsers, and an active participation in charity work. Bohemian Guitars are also committed to environmental sustainability by using partially recycled materials, less wood than typical guitars, and the use of sustainable forests or reclaimed timbers.
