Yanagisawa follows on from its popular AWO (alto) and TWO (tenor) updates with the brand-new BWO (baritone) and SCWO (soprano curved) saxophones.
After Yanagisawa recently updated the A901 (alto) and T901 (tenor) saxophones with the AWO and TWO, the company has now announced brand-new replacements to the popular B901 and SC901.
The new BWO (baritone) and SCWO (soprano curved) saxophones are now here as the perfect saxophones for aspiring beginners, as well as experienced professionals.
The WO series saxophones feature re-engineered bores and toneholes to provide a strong tonal core; this helps achieve a smoother blow and even more precise intonation. These saxophones also benefit from a newly designed, newly engineered, and specially sourced brass material for improved sound and sonority.
Many other upgrades (exclusive to the WO series) bring these instruments right up-to-date, including newly-designed Front F Keys, Ride Side Keys and Right Pinky Keys.
The WO series consists of many small design touches which add to a big difference in playing feel and sound. Some of these features include…
…strong and reliable single arm bell keys (double arm on higher-grade models); a balanced Tri-Point Brace linking the bell and body for supreme resonance, even at fortissimo; metal buffers on the bell keys for increased longevity, accuracy, and adjustability; Yanagisawa's flouroresin, non-stick coating ensures a reliable action with no stickiness; redesigned Front-F and C# - Bb Rocking keys for easier fingering; along with ebonite mouthpieces which give a lovely warm tone and nice ability to blend in an ensemble; waterproof pads for an air-tight seal….. and much more!!
