Working with Page was electric, says The Edge
The U2 star collaborated with Page and Jack White of The White Stripes on the new documentary movie It Might Get Loud, which documents the history of the electric guitar.
Speaking to MusicRadar, The Edge revealed that watching Page play the intro to Led Zeppelin's classic Whole Lotta Love was one of the highlights of the experience.
This, he said, was partly because the song contains what he considers to be the "quintessential guitar riff".
"It was certainly an electric moment," The Edge enthused.
"To see the original fingers playing it - it's like going inside the pyramids or something."
The Edge added he closely observed Page's fingering and technique when he began playing the song - "just to see how he played it".
Page - who is perhaps best known for playing a Gibson Les Paul throughout his career - recently admitted to owning more electric guitars than he knows what to do with, saying he has "far too many" of the instruments.Posted on 6 Jul 2009 11:54 to category : Band / Celebrity News
