The Universal Audio Apollo X6 and X8 Bring Hexa-Core Processing to the Table
The brand-new Apollo X6 and X8 rackmount audio interfaces now feature six (!) DSPs for class-leading audio processing capabilities.
Universal Audio (UA) has redefined the way musicians, engineers and producers think about the recording studio. With just a single audio interface, users are given access to the acclaimed Universal Audio plugin library and can utilise a plethora of sound sculpting tools on any session; the studio-in-a-box term has never been so apt.
The Brand New Universal Audio Apollo X Series
The Universal Audio Apollo X has now raised the bar even further in terms of onboard audio processing power. This brand-new series of audio interfaces features HEXA-core processing for class-leading audio conversion and DSP power. This means users can run even more plugins simultaneously with no worries about running out of processing power.
The Universal Audio Plugin Library
The Universal Audio plugin library features stunning digital recreations of classic outboard hardware, effects, and preamps. With a single DSP-equipped audio interface, users can now take an entire library of audio tools with them to any session. The onboard DSP ensures that the challenging processing work is carried out by the audio interface, leaving your PC/MAC free to process other tasks.
Elite-Quality Audio & Preamps
The Apollo X series expands on the Apollo family and features elite-class 24-bit/192kHz conversion with all-new analog circuity for an ultra-pristine signal path and exceptional sound reproduction. The units deliver close to the widest dynamic range and lowest signal-to-noise ratio of any device, at any price point.
Several of the devices feature built-in Unison preamps which allow you track live projects using exacting preamp emulations of Neve, API, Manley, SSL, and Universal Audio. These preamps have been modelled both in terms of sound and feel; letting you match the input impedance, gain stage "sweet spot", and behaviour of the original hardware down to the component level.
HEXA Core Power
The HEXA Core processing power gives users access to 6 DSPs, providing 50% more UAD plug-power than the previous generation of interfaces. Users can now utilise even more plugins in real-time for near-zero-latency mixing and monitoring; whether that be adding the tube warmth of Pultec EQs to the musical tube limiting of the LA-2A, and much more.
Each device includes the Realtime Analog Classics plugin bundle to get you started with world-class emulations such as the Teletronix LA-2A, 1176LN and Fairchild compressor, along with guitar/bass amp emulations from Marshall and Ampeg.
Networking and Surround Sound
Going beyond the DSP power, premium audio quality, and plugin library; the new Universal Audio Apollo X series interfaces also feature the ability to be networked with other UA devices via Thunderbolt. If you need to expand your system, these devices won't hold you back - up to 6 devices (4 Apollos) can be used together as your setup grows.
Another key feature of the Apollo X range is comprehensive support for surround sound monitoring; especially important for producers and engineers working on music for video games, film, TV and the web. A switchable 24 dBu operation ensures you can seamlessly work with professional mixing consoles and other high-end pro audio equipment.
Studio in a Box
The new Universal Audio X-series audio interfaces feature an incredible amount of potential for your audio work. If you're a musician/engineer/producer who likes to work 'in the box', these devices pack in an incredible range of tools, via the UA plugin library.
What once would have required an entire room of outboard gear (not to mention maintenance costs and financial outlay), can now be packed in a single device ready to go to any session. Never before has such elite-quality audio been made so readily available and easily transportable.
